It is no secret that the founder of Grandhotel Pupp was a confectioner. However, his recipes used by the local confectioners to make traditional cakes and fine desserts remain closely guarded. They are best enjoyed in Café Pupp. The genius loci of this famous café comes from the time it hosted leading artistic and social personalities of past centuries.
Johann Wolfgang Goethe was fond of the chocolate soup. Which cake was the favourite of Ludwig van Beethoven? That is something we unfortunately do not know, but history remembers a famous and passionate concert given by the great musician at the Festival Hall of the Grandhotel Pupp in 1812. In his honour, the cosy lounge above the café was named Beethoven. In addition to corporate events, the Beethoven lounge also hosts wedding receptions and, each Monday evening, meetings of the Karlovy Vary Rotary Club.
First-class Illy coffee and special drinks prepared by experienced baristas can also be enjoyed in the summer on the Café Pupp terrace with open views of the hotel and spa promenade.
On your walks through Karlovy Vary, Café Pupp is impossible to miss.
