The restaurants of the Karlovy Vary region presented on the first May afternoon their specialities in the front of the Spa Hotel Thermal.
Visitors could taste desserts and coffee from the Café Pupp menu, bartenders of the Becher's Bar mixed dozens of cocktails and cooks prepared juicy tortillas in front of the guests. Students of the practical training center at the Grandhotel Pupp decided to present a traditional Czech creamy sauce at conception "Not just one -sviczkova-". Guests were interested in all specialities, as evidenced by the nearly 3000 sold tasting portions.
Special event of this year's Food Festival Karlovy Vary was the national final of Czech Food Cup 2010, competition for the restaurants within the project Czech Specials. In the final round the restaurants competed in tomato sauce and jury announced for the best restaurant in the Czech Republic Orea Hotel Bily Horec in Harrachov.
Festival culminated in an attempt to write into the Czech Book of Records the largest number of waiters in one place, followed by a traditional competition in running of waiters "Run, waiter, run". Forty waiters attended in this year´s competition.
